A life coach is an unbiased & fully engaged listener who is trained to ask questions to catalyze growth. Coaches assume the best solution is already present within you and that you have the ability to create internal change. Coaches follow a Code of Ethics and have a responsibility to ensure confidentiality.
What is a life coach?
What is a coaching session?
A coaching session is a two-way, co-creative conversation. The goal of a session is to facilitate a shift in perspective or a shift in action (often a shift in perspective leads to a shift in action). Both types of shifts allow the client to focus on planned, targeted actions, next steps forward, or goals.

How is it different from counseling?
COUNSELORS are trained to diagnose mental health disorders and often focus on emotional coping strategies and how past experiences affect the present & future. COACHES are trained to lead conversations to facilitate internal change and often focus on the present & future, including solving problems and achieving goals.
About In Bloom Coaching-
Meet Kate Pickett Irving
At 37, my life has been a whirlwind of transitions: from childhood with my grandparents & mom to gaining a stepdad and sister, navigating college, losing my beloved father, experiencing marriage, motherhood, & divorce, then embracing single & co-parenting, shifting careers, battling breast cancer, finding love again, & blending families. Each chapter brought its own mix of challenges, joys, lessons, & love, shaping who I've become.
Now, embarking on a new chapter, I've transitioned from a 15-year career in nonprofits & government to pursue my passion for helping others through life coaching. I completed certification through the Coach Training Alliance (a program certified by the International Coaching Federation (the gold standard for professional coaching) and I am a Certified Life Coach. Achieving certification (although not required legally) was important to me to ensure that I serve my clients with the skills & knowledge needed for success for them and for me.

I am so excited to talk to you and look forward to blooming together!
